Caliente Municipal Court keeps city ordinance and municipal traffic files. It is not a countywide misdemeanor archive. A person who asks only the District Court clerk may miss a case that stayed in a lower court.

The Seventh Judicial District Court sits in Lincoln County on the second and fourth Fridays of each month. Its two departments are regional, and their principal offices are in Ely. The twice-monthly schedule does not mean the clerk accepts record questions only on court days. It does mean a reader should confirm whether a hearing, file, judge, or requested order will be available before driving across rural Lincoln County. The portal belongs at the end of the trial-file search, not at the start, because most local court cases never appear there.
Case Record Access and Restrictions
Nevada public access begins with the office that keeps the record. Under the Nevada Public Records Act, government records are open unless another law makes them confidential. Still, a Public Records Act request is chiefly useful for court administrative records. It is not a route around the clerk's procedures for pleadings, minutes, judgments, and certified case copies. A narrow request helps staff locate the right material and apply required redactions.
Juvenile files, sealed cases, protected victim and minor data, Social Security numbers, financial accounts, medical information, presentence reports, and some exhibits may be unavailable or redacted. Nevada uses record sealing for eligible adult matters under Chapter 179. A sealed result and an offline file can both be absent from an electronic view, but they are not the same. Ask the clerk whether the court searched paper or archived records and whether a sealing order limits any response.
When Lincoln County Court Records Disappear
If a clerk finds no Lincoln County criminal case record, first check spelling, prior names, the filing year, and the case number. Then ask whether the matter stayed in Meadow Valley Justice Court, Pahranagat Valley Justice Court, or Caliente Municipal Court. A recent felony may not yet have reached District Court. When the final result matters, request the judgment or certified disposition from the court that ended the case. A booking charge is only the allegation recorded at intake. Federal charges are separate and belong to the U.S. District Court for the District of Nevada through PACER, not any Lincoln County clerk.
